Despite a journey to get here, staying on a private island such as Cayo Levantado will be worth the trip. Those who fly into Puerto Plata, will have a transfer of 4.5 hours, and those who fly into Santo Domingo, will have 2.75 hours. Meanwhile, Samana’s local airport, El Catey International Airport, only has a few flights from the U.S.
